Michael Jackson’s second studio album as a solo artist on Motown. Released less than six months after the album Got To Be There, Ben continues the bubblegum pop sound that Michael, and the Jackson 5, were famous for at the time.

The title track coincided with the 1972 film of the same name, which was the sequel to 1971’s ‘Willard’. The album’s original cover (pictured below) featured a group of rats as seen in the movie, but Motown changed the cover shortly after its release to prevent scaring off children and potential customers.
