One Night in Japan Tracklist

About “One Night in Japan”

One Night in Japan is the first live album by Michael Jackson, released in 2009 by Immortal Records. It is a bootleg and an unofficial release as it is distributed by immortal Records (which for two years had finished its business), while the artist’s then record company was (and currently is) Epic Records (controlled by Sony BMG).

The album collects the songs live on September 26, 1987, at the stadium in Yokohama, Japan, during one of the first concerts of the Bad World Tour. The concert proved to be a triumph, which earned Jackson a place in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1989. The lineup picks up the star’s biggest hits from Jackson 5 to Bad; note of merit to the vocal choice of the songs, all performed live (which will be repeated more and more rarely).

There was only one error on the album: On the back of the cover is indicated that the concert was held at Korakuen Stadium on September 12, 1987, but these are two errors: On that date (the first of the Bad World Tour) Michael performed in Tokyo, while the immortal performance on this live album was the one that was held on September 26, 1987, at Yokohama Stadium. Korakuen Stadium is also the one where Michael performed on the Tokyo date.
