Milestones

Miles Davis

About “Milestones”

Featuring the acclaimed “Four”, Miles Davis' Milestones is a key timestamp of Davis' Modal Era – although it doesn’t reach the bravado sounds of Kind Of Blue or the mellow tones of Round About Midnight, the album represents a time where Davis was at peace with himself. His music had a clear focus and he was set into a specific mindset when recording each track.

The sextet Miles formed to record the album was short lived but had incredible chemistry, and would later be acknowledged for the legendary influence the group had on jazz after their collaborations.

The reissued version of Milestones featured three new live tracks, as well as remixed and mastered synthesizers and machine-type elements added to the album that he planned to incorporate during the Warner era.
