About “Brotherhood”

With a roughly division between electronic and post-punk on the two sides of the LP, Brotherhood is one of New Order’s darkest albums, with themes of sexual desire, segregation based on popularity, lust for power, and more. The album includes the break-out single “Bizarre Love Triangle”, which found it’s way into many soundtracks, and is still a fan favorite today.

Created by long-time collaborator Peter Saville, the cover is a photograph of a sheet of titanium-zinc alloy, with some earlier releases having a metallic finish to it.
