Human is the fifth studio album from OneRepublic, released on August 27, 2021 via Mosley Music Group and Interscope Records. A deluxe edition of the album was also released, with four additional tracks not included on the standard edition of the album: “Wild Life,” “Ships + Tides,” “Someday (Acoustic)” and “Lose Somebody” with Kygo.
The whole album is steering towards connection. It’s about wanting real human connection in a meaningful way, because that’s really all that matters at the end of the day
In an interview with Forbes prior to the album release, Ryan Tedder explains his current pursuits and his decision to ease into a musically related career that would allow him to spend more time with his family and avoid the burnout that occurred after the release of 1R’s last album, Oh My My.
I’m definitely not stopping OneRepublic… I still love OneRepublic, we’re still going to tour, this new album I think will be phenomenal, but I can’t ever do what we’ve done in the past where, and I don’t care how successful the album is, I leave home and I’m on the road for two years. Once you have a family and kids, it changes everything.
All the song titles and all the songs are about very, very, basic human emotion. And so we’re actually calling it, the album, Human. That’s new information. And it will have about 8 or 9 songs on it.

On March 20th, 2020, Ryan and Tyler did an Instagram livestream where Ryan was cooking and Tyler was playing snippets of songs from the album. If you pause just right, you’ll be able to see a folder called “Human (Tracklist)” opened up with the first 10 tracks in order.
Track “Don’t Cry For Me” is speculated to be on the deluxe version.
OneRepublic sent out a text message to their fans on July 1, announcing the final release date of Human to be August 27, 2021.
