On July 16th, 2012 A few days before the official release of the album lead singer Angelakos announced on the bands website they would be cancelling the rest of the tour as he sought out treatment for bipolar disorder.
They performed some stripped versions of the songs on Gossamer at the 2012 NPR Tiny Desk Concert, well known for the unplugged, acoustic, small audience performances. Passion Pit played stripped-down versions of “Take a Walk,” “Sleepyhead” from Manners, and “Carried Away” with only Michael Angelakos performing on vocals/keyboard and Ian Hultquist on the electric guitar.
Yes, Gossamer was certified gold by the RIAA on October 30, 2020.
