Ecce Cor Meum

Paul McCartney

About “Ecce Cor Meum”

Ecce Cor Meum, which is Latin for “Behold My Heart,” is Paul’s fourth classical production.

The title was inspired by an inscription Paul saw on a statue of Jesus. According to the official Paul McCartney website, the album is eight years in the making. It would have been released earlier, but the loss of Paul’s beloved Linda delayed the project.

Paul dedicated the album to Linda, who attended the venue with him when Paul was first asked to make a choral piece to inaugurate the opening of the concert hall at Oxford University’s Magdalen College, in 1996—two years before her death in 1998.
