About “Wild Life”

“Wild Life” is the debut studio album by the British-American rock band Wings and the third studio album by Paul McCartney after his breakup with The Beatles. It was released on December 7th of 1971, Paul McCartney had lead vocals on all tracks and shared this role with his wife Linda McCartney. The tracks were all recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

“Dear Friend” the ninth track in the album and one-track dating back to the early RAM sessions, was an attempt at reconciliation with John Lennon. The 3rd track “Love is Strange” which was originally released by the R&B duo Mickey & Sylvia was made into a reggae cover.

“Wild Life” soon reached number 11 in the U.K. and number 10 in the U.S. where the album went gold.
