The song marks Rihanna’s first solo musical output since her 2016 studio album ANTI, and her first overall in two and a half years.

Lift Me Up is an “emotive” R&B ballad that “speaks from the heart”, serving as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who died from colon cancer with just 43 years old, shocking the industry and the world.

Chadwick was a beloved and hard-working actor, best known for giving life to T'Challa, the protagonist in Black Panther.
