I Am Alive In Everything I Touch is the eigth studio album of the Canadian band Silverstein. It was released on May 19th, 2015 and features 12 tracks with a total length of 40:27 minutes.
It is the third concept album of the band, the previous ones being A Shipwreck in the Sand and This Is How the Wind Shifts. The album is thematically split into four chapters, which each represent one of the four cardinal directions, namely “Borealis” (Latin for north), “Austeralis” (South), “Zephyrus” (greek god of the west wind) and “Eurus” (greek god of the east wind). Each track is thematically settled in a specific north american city in the geographic region of the chapter to which it belongs, starting and ending at Toronto.
In an 2015 interview with “A music blog, yea?”, lead singer Shane Told has stated:
…We’ve been a band for fifteen years now and there are certain cities we’ve toured to that give us so many memories of the good times and the bad times. I think that this record is a reflection on all of the time I’ve spent in these places. It’s all about starting in Toronto and ending up back in Toronto once again, and having an emotion journey where you go through a cycle. I feel the record is more autobiographical than any of our records before.
