Superstition

Siouxsie and the Banshees

About “Superstition”

Superstition is the 10th studio album by Siouxsie And The Banshees. It was released on the 10th June 1991 and reached position 25 in the UK singles chart and 65 in the US Billboard Charts. It is the bands best selling album in the US with over 350.000 copies sold.
The album saw the Banshees going into a completely new direction: pure Pop. A reason for this being record producer Stephen Hague who is known worldwide for his work with The Pet Shop Boys or New Order. He used computer-based production on the album, which the band doesn’t approve as of today. Siouxsie Sioux stated: “There are still songs I like on it, like ‘Kiss Them for Me’ and ‘Drifter’, but we were trying a different kind of working style, a different kind of discipline, during which I really built a strong case against computers.”
