Quest For Fire

Quest For Fire is the sophomore album and marks the return for the veteran DJ and producer, Skrillex, since his 2014 debut album, Recess. It is the follow-up of his 2019 EP, Show Tracks.

The first mention of the album was in 2019, during the episode 25 of 12th Planet’s radio, “Swamplex Radio”, where he revealed that he was working on his next project since 2018, and got a story to told on his new album.

After several songs previewed in shows during the past four years; Skrillex will release potential promotional singles from the album, starting with “Butterflies” with Starrah and Four Tet, released on May 10, 2021. Three days later, Skrillex released “Too Bizarre,” with Swae Lee and Siiickbrain

One month later, Skrillex and Noisia released “Supersonic (My Existence),” a remix of an song of the same name by josh pan and Dylan Brady — Later, on August 21, 2021, Skrillex released his last single of the year, “Don’t Go” with vocals by Don Toliver and Skrillex’s frequent collaborator, Justin Bieber.

After a whole year without any news about the project; On January 1, 2023, Skrillex officially announce his new album on his social media, with the caption “QFF/DGTC 23”. The next day, Skrillex announced his promotional and first single of the year, “Rumble” with Fred again… and Flowdan, released on January 4, 2022.

Rumors on a Reddit post during the album announcement indicate that “QFF / DGTC” could be deliberated from 2 possible albums, which—according to some fans—would be acronyms for: “Quest For Friends” and “Don’t Get Too Close,” although Skrillex has not yet given any meaning behind the caption.
