A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!

This album contains selections from Stephen Colbert’s 2007 comedy special, A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! which aired on Comedy Central. The special both pays tribute to and skewers the spate of celebrity holiday specials that proliferated on TV in the 1960s and 1970s. The special contains a thin plotline that serves mostly as a transparent excuse for other celebrities to drop in to the phony setting (in this case, a mountain cabin where Colbert’s character is supposedly trapped by his fear of a bear, which is preventing him from returning to his Manhattan studio to a tape a Christmas special) and join him in song.
