This is the 3nd Demo Tape (including the Untitled 1995 Demo Tape, released on May 12th, 1996.
This date is an estimate, but it could be that date because Serj said at a Dragonfly Show in April, “Our New Demo will be out in 3 or 4 weeks” Andy was credited for the help. Although songs from DT3, were also played at the concert, so we still don’t know for sure.
The tape has 3 songs, but only one of them, Soil was featured on the Self-Titled album, although Honey and Temper were originally meant to be on there. Also, rumors say that the two songs were re-recorded for their Mezmerize/Hypnotize sessions sometime in 2004.
A theory by Ted Koch suggests that Honey was not included on the album, because of the similar theme to the name Sugar, and Temper was not there, because of the line: “The governments here can suck my balls!” – so the band would avoid controversy.
The only difference in this tape is that Soil did not include the line:
“Why the fuck did you take him away from us, you motherfucker?!”
