DEMO TAPE 4

System Of A Down

About “DEMO TAPE 4”

Recorded in 1997, some months after Demo Tape 3, is the 5th demo tape of the band (taking the Unititled 1995 Demo Tape into account). This album was not officially released, but instead released to record companies for signing to their label. There are 13 tracks, but only 7 (9 if you count the Japanese edition) songs were featured on the Self-Titled album. The tracks that went unused are: 36, Friik, Blue (featured on Serj’s Elect the Dead solo album, as an acoustic version), Metro, Marmalade & Storaged (both featured on the Japanese edition). The tracks from Demo Tape 1 were re-recorded (except for DAM and P.L.U.C.K., even though a later demo was released on an Armenian music compilation album, Hye Enk – April 24.
