Hypnotize is the fifth album and second half of the Mezmerize/Hypnotize double album released by System of a Down. It was released on November 22, 2005, through the record label, Columbia. The double album was recorded in two studios; The Mansion, and the Akademie Mathematique of Philosophical Sound Research. The double album debuted at #1 in the Billboard 200. Hypnotize was the last album to release before System of a Down’s four-year hiatus from August 2006 to November 2010.

Is there a clear meaning of the album?
System of a Down’s lyrics are often oblique or dadaist and the band members have said many times that the listener should interpret their songs by himself.
We do not like to explain our lyrics, each art form must be interpreted by the person who observes, hears or sees, and if we explain our definition of art, which is not even the same for each one of us, then this could make it difficult to design an idea of its own.
