About “Fear of Music”
Talking Heads' third album moved further away from their original post-punk sound to darker, more dystopian subject matter.
There is a theory that you can preface the one-word-title songs with “Fear of” – “Fear of Cities”, “Fear of Air”, “Fear of Heaven” etc. In the case, the album title wouldn’t be about a fear of music, it would be “Fear Of” music.

Were there any commercials used for promotion of the album?
Yes! Back in 1979, producer Brian Eno worked with David Byrne in making promotional radio advertisements using different effects that resembled the sounds of music that were heard on the album. You can hear it here.
