Passion Play

Having split from Epic Records after poor performance of her 1990 album “Ivory”, funk and soul musician Teena Marie in 1994 recorded, produced, pressed and distributed “Passion Play” without the help of a major label. While it was a poor business decision, and a sales disappointment, diehard fans were warm to the album, which included a collaboration with Lenny Kravitz (on “Main Squeeze”). It would be another decade before her next album (“La Doña”).
