Hit to Death in the Future Head is the fifth studio album by the Flaming Lips, and the first to be released by Warner Bros. Records. By the time the album was released, both drummer Nathan Roberts and guitarist Jonathan Donahue had left the band, and had been replaced by Steven Drozd and Ronald Jones, respectively.
In addition to the “10 solipsistic soundtracks” that make up the album proper, Hit to Death also features an eleventh “joke track”, consisting of a short noise loop repeating for nearly 30 minutes.
