About “Some Girls”

In the mid-1970s, the Rolling Stones weren’t doing so great. It’d been a while since they had a big hit, and their future wasn’t looking very promising. Then in May 1978, they released the single “Miss You”. It was huge. Not only did it peak at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it proved that the Rolling Stones weren’t over. And on June 9, 1978, they released the album “Some Girls”, which remains their best-selling studio album. It featured singles like “Beast of Burden”, “Respectable” and “Shattered”, and also some album tracks that were popular, like “Far Away Eyes”, “When the Whip Comes Down” and the controversial title track. It was ranked the 269th greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone in 2003. It then dropped a spot in their 2012 list, and then it was #468 in their 2020 list.
