Another View

The Velvet Underground

About “Another View”

Another View is a compilation of previously unreleased outtakes by the Velvet Underground.

The majority of the songs here come from the sessions for the VU’s scrapped follow-up to their self-titled album. This album was shelved due to the band being dropped by the struggling MGM Records because of their controversial nature and low sales.

This, also, is technically an outtakes album for an outtakes album: Verve Records, while reissuing the Velvets' catalog on CD, discovered the lost tapes and released what they considered to be the best of them on 1985’s VU. The remaining tracks were released on this album, which was originally a bonus disc in a vinyl box set of the Velvets' complete works.
