It’s Hard

The Who

About “It’s Hard”

It’s Hard is an album released in 1982 by the English rock band The Who. It is their 10th studio album, and for a long time the last until 2006’s Endless Wire. By extension, this album marks the last appearance of drummer Kenney Jones and longtime bassist John Entwistle in a Who studio album, as well as the last Who album released under Warner Bros. Records in the US, and the second album they’ve made since the death of their original drummer Keith Moon.

This album is mired with mixed opinions among the fanbase, with many proclaiming it’s nowhere near the level of older albums while others, including Rolling Stone magazine, proclaim it’s “their most vital and coherent album since Who’s Next.” Still, it nonetheless has Eminence Front as one of their most popular songs overall, and the album itself did peak on #8 of the US Billboard 200.
