Ready Steady Who

The Who

About “Ready Steady Who”

Although often thought of as a live disc from the band’s appearance on the iconic British show “Ready Steady Go,” this is actually a studio EP consisting of two Townshend originals (“Disguises” and a re-recording of a track planned as a single before the group split with original producer Shel Talmy, “Circles”) and three covers–all of which appeared to play to Keith Moon’s love of surf music and kitsch. Moon takes the lead vocal on the cover of Jan & Dean’s “Bucket T,” and his squeakly falsetto is prominent on “Barbara Ann.”
