About “The Godfather of Odd: A Hardy Fox Tribute”

A tribute album to the late Hardy Fox, the keyboardist, occasional vocalist, founding member, and co-songwriter (with Homer Flynn) of the Residents until his retirement in 2015. The album was put together by Philippe Perreaudin of Palo Alto and Walter Robotka of label KLANGGALERIE, with original recordings by “former label mates, collaborators and friends, and also some musical admirers” (many of whom have work now published by KLANGGALERIE).

These include:
- Blaine L. Reininger, member of Ralph-published band Tuxedomoon and violin player on “Don’t Lie” (a Snakefinger song from when his backing band was The Residents
- The Residents
- Harry Lagoussis, director of the music video to “And I Was Alone” by The Residents
- French band Palo Alto, who appeared on I Am A Resident!
- Laurie Amat, who sang on many songs with The Residents from the late 80s to late 90s
- Harvey & Nipple, consisting of frequent 90s to 2000s singer with the Residents Molly Harvey and Ostrich von Nipple
- Carla Fabrizio, frequent singer and cellist for the Residents since Wormwood
- DDAA, a French avant-garde band
- Cult With No Name, an English duo who appeared on I Am A Resident!
- Australian musician JG Thirlwell
- Renaldo & The Loaf, an English electronic duo who were “discovered” by and collaborated with The Residents
- Steven Brown of Tuxedomoon
- Už Jsme Doma, a Czech band who performed live with Randy Rose (a persona of The Residents' singer) and appeared on a couple other recordings with them
- Ptôse, a French avant-garde band and contemporary of The Residents, who they have covered (along with being covered by Renaldo & the Loaf)
- Fred Frith, member of Henry Cow and then Ralph-published Art Bears. He appeared on The Residents' Commercial Album as an “Extra Hard Working Guest Musician” (confirmed to play guitar on “The Coming Of The Crow” & “Shut Up, Shut Up”) and on a few other songs with them
