The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Original Soundtrack)

On June 21, 1996, Walt Disney released the adaptation of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. While not the first adaptation of the book, it is the most well-known version mainly due to its music written and composed by Alan Menken.

The film is easily the darkest Disney film mainly due to various religious themes like sin, hell and damnation. With the time period and settings the film takes place in, the music takes influence from church music.
