The first time they met they went to the park and talked all night.

Waxahatchee feels comfortable around this person she barely knows to talk about anything.

Their conscientious nature means that the mistakes they’ve made in the past are still hurting them, they wish that they could do things again and not make the same mistakes.

They both relish the darkness of night because it hides the flaws of life that would usually be visible.

They seem pretty perfect for each other already, whilst by themselves they are completely imperfect.

Waxahatchee warned her now partner when they met that Waxahatchee was a flawed person when they met. Yet he was not put of by this because everybody is flwaed, it’s just a matter of whether or not you can admit it to yourself.

“I have faults enough, but they are not, I hope, of understanding. My temper I dare not vouch for. It is, I believe, too little yielding— certainly too little for the convenience of the world. I cannot forget the follies and vices of other so soon as I ought, nor their offenses against myself. My feelings are not puffed about with every attempt to move them. My temper would perhaps be called resentful. My good opinion once lost, is lost forever.” “- Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Yet you’re passed off as having “low self esteem” if you admit it.

Waxahatchee tells her partner to buy all the liquor that this shop has. Waxahatchee is really a fan of her alcohol to drown her thoughts.

The alcohol acts as a disguise for the relationship, it shields the fact that the chemistry is gone. They “distantly” laugh because, neither one of them is truly committed to the relationship.

Instead of sleeping through the static people should open their eyes and love one another.

The next lines refer to the US' view on the world. They use violence to do simple things as it is easier in the short term. They use guns instead of actually discussing and coming to a reasonable conclusion.

Jack comes to the conclusion that the human race is dealing with powers they shouldn’t have. No person should have a say in thousands of people dying – it’s not our decision.

The government cooks(doctors) all of it’s reports, such as the reports of WMDs in Iraq, in order to justify their wars. Yet America allowed this to happen as it “seemed” good enough to be true.

America has two choices with this:
1.They can watch everything that’s goes on and be completely disgusted with it from the news or
2.They can feign ignorance to the hell that America unleashes on other countries and simply sleep through the devices trying to tell them something is seriously wrong.

“Blanks” symbolises diplomacy.

The US choose to fight wars instead of simply solving things peacefully with countries through “conversations”. The US is one of the most hated countries in the world because of this, they don’t care what the rest of the world thinks because “they are the best”

Starting wars has become almost like a hobby to the US government.

They’ve done it so many times that they know exactly what to do, first they train their armies, then they unleash hell upon certain countries in the world, then they pick up the pieces and claim it wasn’t their fault. Even if the war turns out to be a disaster they will call it a victory(Vietnam War).

The US then claims to be a saviour for doing this, and nobody listens to them because they’ve done it so many times it’s predictable.
