By 2004, though, his string of radio hits were getting spins from Clue and his ilk, and it appears that the two are now on good terms.

Syrinx was the name of a nymph in Greek mythology. Pursued by the god Pan, she was transformed into the reeds that grow by the rivers in order to escape his clutches. Pan fashioned the reeds into the first Pan pipes or syrinx. Here, the fact that the temple is in some way dedicated to music is ironic, given that the singer is castigated for discovering a guitar. Perhaps he is a rival to the priesthood who favour their own orthodox music.

Theocracy is a form of government based on the authority of religion. These priests' authority is based on control of technology and on mystifying the populace with superstitions. They control both mind and body. The medieval legend of the priest-king Prester John is a symbolic example of this form of rule.

Another example would be Henry VIII of England, who took control of the Church of England away from the Pope in order to tighten his hold on his country.
