Chaos is suggested with these metaphors. Not only is a literal storm ripping through the city, her relationship problems are storms of their own.

Florence prays for both the survival of both herself and her love, even as the water pours in from the flooding river banks. Trouble can be like a religious experience.

By the use of both storms and saints, it’s possible this song foreshadows the breakup in “St. Jude”. St. Jude was both a storm in the UK, and a saint of lost causes. It’s also indicates how Florence’s troubles will lead to her romance’s death–since saints are usually martyrs.

A lot of the songs on the new album are about being in a relationship with someone who is driving you away.
I had to experience it. I wouldn’t wish it on someone, but when you make something out of it, that’s what it was all for, I guess. The songs become these talismans, little spells that you’ve written that are just for yourself. And you can carry them with you.

This user left several annotations on the album Fearless by Marina Kaye. One of the songs feature Lindsey Stirling.

From my first impression, Flordian’s annotations aren’t long enough, but they can identify metaphors and connect interview material to lines, so that’s promising. Also, anyone who annotates across multiple pages of an album is likely passionate.

“Dutty Wine” is a Jamaican dance where young girls wave their long hair around. Since “wind” means gyrate, it can get sensual.

They get caught up in the moment and see this collaborative dance as a start of a new love.
