Chris James Donnelly, better known simply as Chris James, is an American artist, producer, vocalist, and DJ. Hailing from Long Beach, California, James has risen to prominence over the last decade with his unique blend of house and progressive music.
His career began in the late 2000s with a string of successful releases on labels like Mau5trap, Armada, and Anjunabeats. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including Deadmau5, Arty, and On Planets. His collaborations have earned him numerous awards and major success on the dance music charts.
One of his most successful collaborations was with Deadmau5 on the track ‘The Veldt’. Released in 2012, the track quickly became a hit on the progressive house charts and earned James a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording.
In 2013, James teamed up with Arty on the track ‘Together We Are’. The track was a collaboration between James and Arty, but included a vocal performance by singer-songwriter Mat Zo. The track was a major success and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
In 2016, James collaborated with On Planets on the track ‘Fallen’. The track was a slow-building progressive house anthem that featured a lush vocal performance from singer-songwriter Emma Hewitt.
