James Ford

About James Ford

James Ford (born 11 December 1981 in Leek, Staffordshire) is an English record producer and songwriter. Known for being a member Simian Mobile Disco and production work with the Arctic Monkeys and Klaxons.

He was a founding member of the group Simian and currently a member of their spin-off duo Simian Mobile Disco. He produced the Mercury Prize–winning album, Klaxons' Myths of the Near Future and every Arctic Monkeys' album post-Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.

In 2008, he worked with The Last Shadow Puppets, with whom he played the drums and produced their Mercury Prize nominated and UK No. 1 debut album The Age of the Understatement.

As well as playing drums with The Last Shadow Puppets and on Klaxons, Myths of the Near Future he also plays guitar on Arctic Monkeys “Only Ones Who Know” and occasionally plays keyboards with the band live.
