A legendary music producer—Wexler got his start as a journalist for Billboard Magazine, where he coined the term “rhythm and blues.” He joined Atlantic Records in 1953 and while there produced classic albums with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Led Zeppelin, and others.
