Kate Nash

AKA: Kate M. Nash and Kate Marie Nash

About Kate Nash

Kate Nash is an English singer and songwriter based in London. She had a UK #2 hit “Foundations” in 2007, followed by the platinum selling UK number 1 album Made of Bricks. Nash’s second album, My Best Friend Is You debuted in 2010, with the lead single “Do Wah Do”. MBFIS, while similar in sound to Made of Bricks, showed early signs of Nash’s departure from singer-songwriter piano driven pop music towards heavier punk and riot grrrl inspired music, to which she is now more grounded in.

Girl Talk, Nash’s third album, was the full-fledge departure from her previous sound – and left her label because of it. Using loud guitars, catchy riffs, and thought-provoking lyrics, Girl Talk showed a fearless side to Nash, perhaps not yet seen on her previous two releases.

In August of 2016, Nash released the single “Good Summer”, an upbeat fun song about the joys of English summers; and “My Little Alien” in November of that year, lyrically about an alien – but as Nash has stated at concerts (and in the music video) about her dog, Stella. Also in the fall of 2016, Nash announced her involvement in the Netflix series GLOW), which follows women wrestlers in the 1980s; the show premiered in the summer of 2017, and Nash will appear again in its second season.

In April of 2017, Nash announced that she intended to release her fifth album with the help of a kickstarter campaign, which soon raised enough money for her to begin work on the album. In the mean time Nash released the Agenda EP, featuring songs such as “Agenda”, “Call Me”, and the previously mentioned “My Little Alien”. In January of 2018 she announced that she was working on another song, called “Drink About You”, and released it in February to her kickstarter campaigners. On February 2, she announced that her new album would called Yesterday Was Forever, and that it would be released on March 30, 2018.
