Maia Mitchell is an Australian Actress and Singer who was born and raised in Lismore, New South Wales out in the Northeastern part of Australia.

She found her interest in acting as she participated in school plays and local theatre productions in her hometown. She got discovered by many talent agencies who attended her shows to see her performance giving her opportunity to land her big break in the industry becoming a young actress. Maia was casted in the Australian television series, Mortified, at 12 years as the show ran up to a total of 26 episodes with two seasons. It received positive feedback and got to join another show being part of the cast of the television series of Trapped and Castaway.

She made her first international breakthrough in the United States signing on a contract with Disney, playing a role in the Disney Channel Original series, Jessie, and landed her first leading role in the Disney Channel Original movie, Teen Beach Movie.

In 2013, she got a leading role being casted on the ABC/Freeform drama television series, the Fosters. The show was a huge success for Maia where she portrayed as Callie, a young teenage girl who had a difficult life being put in foster care, trying to hang onto the challenges she faced growing up. The show ran for 5 seasons and Maia appeared in the series' spinoff, Good Trouble, along with her costar, Cierra Ramirez.

Maia plays the guitar as she learned to play at a young age and has recorded music for the Teen Beach movie soundtrack alongside Ross Lynch and came up released a song titled “Magic” with Rudy Mancuso being her first single feature in 2018.
