Reggie Vinson

Reggie was born in TN, and raised in Detroit, MI. Reggie grew up with the sound of the Blues, Rock N' Roll and Motown. His mother was a gospel Singer and taught Reggie how to play guitar and sing. His Aunt was Minnie Pearl and Pat Boone was his cousin, so music became natural to him. His natural instincts lead to his ability to play and sing songs recorded by Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke, The Temptations, and even Elvis Presley.

Then one night Reggie was playing in a Blues Club in Detroit and Etta James ask him to be her guitar player which led him to Chuck Berry and doing some shows with him. His first record was cut in Detroit under the name of Bob London and the Bobbies. He met Johnny Taylor, an R&B singer with whom he recorded many songs. Then the Rock N’ Roll group “Frijid Pink” recorded four of his songs.

Reggie met Shock Rocker Alice Cooper where Alice asked him to be his session guitarist and background vocalist on 4 different albums: Killer, School’s Out, Billion Dollar Babies (of which Reggie co-wrote the title cut), and the fourth album, Muscle of Love, where he was a background singer. Reggie and Alice are still best friends today as well as the original Alice Cooper’s band.
