About Roy Thomas Baker

Roy Thomas Baker is a British music producer and songwriter, famously known for his work on some of the biggest records dating back to the 1970’s. He is currently the governor of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, which is widely known for it’s GRAMMY Award shows.

His most notable production credit comes from his extensive work on Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. In fact, Baker fought a bitter battle with various record label executives in order to release this classic tune.

RTB also produced albums for David Bowie, Journey, The Rolling Stones, The Cars, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Devo, Cheap Trick, Smashing Pumpkins, and many others.

Baker was a previous Vice President of Elektra Records, where he acted as a talent scout, signing artists such as Metallica, Peter Schilling, and 10,000 Maniacs.
