About Troy Van Leeuwen

Troy Van Leeuwen (born January 5, 1970) is an American rock musician and producer from Los Angeles, CA.

Joining in August of 2002, Van Leeuwen is most widely known as the current guitarist/multi-instrumentalist for Queens of the Stone Age. He is now the second longest-lasting member of QOTSA, his contributions starting with Lullabies to Paralyze.

His other current projects include the super group Gone Is Gone, which consists of Troy Sanders of Mastodon, Tony Trajjar of At The Drive-In, and film composer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Zarin. And glam rock outfit, Sweethead, which he co-founded with partner Serrina Sims.

Van Leeuwen also known for his work with the bands Failure, touring with them as recently as 2015, and A Perfect Circle, where he played guitar from 1999 to early 2002 before he left to join QOTSA.
