Youth Lagoon

Youth Lagoon is the stage name of Trevor Powers, an experimental dream pop musician from Idaho.

Under his Youth Lagoon alias, Powers released three studio albums which can be viewed as reflections of his personal hopes and fears. The Year of Hibernation deals with anxiety and psychological dysphoria, Wondrous Bughouse centres upon the connection between the physical and spiritual world, and Savage Hills Ballroom acknowledges personal flaws.

In early 2016, Powers announced the conclusion of Youth Lagoon, stating that the project will “forever be a transitional trilogy” that will:

occupy a certain isolated & solitary spectrum; it is a space I no longer inhabit, nor want to inhabit. Youth Lagoon is complete. I’ve reached the top of a mountain, only to then be able to see a much larger one I want to ascend.
