Hi all,

I’ve just embarked on the task of trying to update Pulp’s information on this site, so I wondered if there were any other people out there with a fondness for Jarvis &co.? Does anyone have a favourite song or album? Mine would be O.U. (Gone Gone) from the Pulpintro album (at the moment at least.)

If any of you would be up for helping with adding lyrics and analysing and such, as well, that would be greatly appreciated.

YESSSSS. I LOVE Pulp! My favorite track (at the moment) is “I Spy”. Jarvis' lyrics are often very astute and wry, so there’s plenty of annotating that can be done there. I’ll try to help when I can.

Cheers! Glad to see there are actually some people out there who like Jarv et al. “I Spy” is a cracking song. Brilliantly astute, as you say. Sometimes listening to such a scathing song can be hard work, but Jarvis' wit pulls it off in a way that, I feel, very few others can. I don’t suppose you’ve ever given any of the really early stuff a listen? Quite a lot rougher, but there are gems there to find for certain.

@DensleyBlair Not really, I’ve only heard stuff after His ‘n’ Hers, but I should definitely check the earlier stuff out.

@Abraxas01 I’d recommend listening to Wishful Thinking, Joking Aside, They Suffocate At Night and Inside Susan – as well as “O.U. (Gone, Gone)”. That should give you a decent spread of highlights from the pre-His ‘n’ Hers era.

Only four songs to go until Different Class is complete! (Four some reason, Disco 2000 isn’t grouped with them – I don’t suppose this is something someone could perhaps rectify?) I’m hoping to do His ‘n’ Hers next, seeing as I’ve already done Lipgloss. As ever, if anyone would like to help, please feel free! :-)
