This is what we call a post-honeymoon phase epiphany — the realization that your relationship isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Maybe you don’t actually have that much in common, or maybe you just got sick of them. Regardless, you’re trapped now.

The “fever” used throughout the song is likely a metaphor, an extended reference to Dan Auerbach’s ex-wife and recent divorce in general. In this context she, the fever, constricts him and prevents him from fully pursuing his dream of being a successful musician. When he’s forced to dedicate all of his time to his marriage, he can’t focus on himself and his creative outlet.

Much like The National did with “Sea of Love”, Albarn here is painting the concept of “love” as a uniting, omnipresent force — as omnipresent as the seas that cover ¾’s of Earth. It’s an optimistic view, but with the ever present threat of war and death, some may see love merely as the distractor to all the world’s hate.

If there was ever a band that epitomized the tastes and preferences of Pitchfork, the hermetic members of Neutral Milk Hotel are it. The band, who reunited in 2013 after a staggering 15-year hiatus, are touring off the success of 1998’s In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The main pro of seeing this band live is that they sound just as good, if not better, than on their magnum opus.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CcqihRWNxY Put simply, Deafheaven’s 2013 release Sunbather catapulted the band to total meme status. Their unique sound combines black metal screams with fast, loud, and melodic instrumentation. Sunbather was sited by The Rolling Stone and Pitchfork as the best metal album of 2014 and topped numerous other publications' lists.

I’VE SEEN FOOTAGE!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sticXkHxZC4&feature=kp Being able to see the reclusive and brooding trio that comprises Death Grips live and in the flesh is not only a rarity but a privilege. When finally caught live, their frequent concert cancellations are rectified by a truly primal and cathartic onslaught of sound. Don’t miss them.

The latest incarnation of Animal Collective frontman Avey Tare’s numerous solo projects. Less intense and frenetic than AC, Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks add in a folksy overtone to the psychedelic sounds. Also a favorite of Pitchfork’s, Tare and his bandmates in Animal Collective played the festival in 2011 and 2012.

I’m a loser baby, so why don'tcha kill me?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE&feature=kp Beck is headlining the first day of the festival in promotion of his latest studio album Morning Phase, which was Pitchfork lauded as “one of his best records”. The record also underwent a complete exegesis here on Rock Genius.

Very reminiscent of Basquiat IMO. Especially so the penmanship and crown above the “MOB”…I smell an homage!
