“Let’s Spend the Night Together” was the lead single released in advance of the Rolling Stones' 1967 album Between the Buttons. Though it was the opening song on the American issue of Buttons, it was not on the British version – London Records had cut out “Back Street Girl” to make room for it.
Reportedly, Mick Jagger wrote the song after a romantic evening he and Marianne Faithfull had spent in a motel after a Stones concert in Bristol.
