Part of The Rip Tide and a two song EP both released in 2011, though it was first performed in 2009 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
Lead singer and songwriter Zach Condon stated at the time that “this is a new song slash really really old song, because I think I wrote this when I was 17.” Condon lived partly in New York City at the time.
The song represents a marked change from Beirut’s previously vague lyrics and coincides with Condon finally settling down after wandering the world for years on end.
