“Pork and Beans” was inspired by a meeting with Geffen in which Weezer was told to try to make more commercial music. The song is Weezer’s response, which ironically became pretty famous (although maybe that was the plan).
It also earned much fame from its music video, showcasing plenty of internet meme victims from the 2000s.

It’s actually me saying, “Hey,” and then I sped it up an octave. It actually sounds like a Timbaland kind of production; he has little baby crying types of sounds.
