United States Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Tired eyes, close for days
There’s no regret
Cause there’s no place
I don’t know what i believe
But if i feel safe, what do i need?
[Chorus]
Revolution!
Revolution!
Revolution blues
What will they do?
Revolution!
Revolution blues
What will they do to me?
What will they do to me?
What will they do to me?
What will they do to me?
[Verse 2]
Dulcet tongues, whisper fast
The future yearns
Right now’s the past
Rouse me soon, the end draws nigh
Who’s side are you on?
Your blood you cannot buy
Revolution!
Revolution!
Revolution blues
What will they do?
Revolution!
Revolution!
Revolution blues
What will they do to you?
[Instrumental Break 04:19-06:48]
[Verse 3]
We’re alive
I feel alright
So tonight
I got to ask you why?
Why tonight?
It’s no surprise
I’ve got to survive!
[Bridge]
Freedom shines a light ahead
I’ll lead the last charge from bed
They said my last rites
I don’t have to run scared no more
Fight!
I wanna fight!
I wanna fight!
Revolution tonight!
I wanna fight!
I wanna fight! Revolution tonight!
Acolyte, acolyte
Do you wanna watch me die?
[Outro]
Let me be something good
Let me prove something real like I should
Let me embrace every single living thing
Let me be every single moment I ever misunderstood
[Instrumental Outro]

Billy Corgan via XM Artist Confidential:
It’s pretty simple. I made a decision not to watch cable network news anymore. I was an obsessive news watcher. Once I stopped, I started noticing how afraid I was and how the fear was being fed by this constant source of paranoia. So who am I with all this swirling around my head?
Billy Corgan via XM Artist Confidential:
[Black] Sabbath is a band that did the shuffle very well but if you do Sabbath shuffle you just sound like Sabbath, there’s nothing novel about that. Then we started talking about early ‘70s Pink Floyd and how they used the shuffle…but it doesn’t sound like the shuffle. We’ll set up a template of ideas: 'Fool around in this direction and I’ll keep playing.’ We’re just looking for the moment. When Jimmy was on the toms, we were excited, but as soon as we went to the snare beat, we’re back to awful. It took us weeks to solve this problem.
